2016 campus mentors

The average person never learns how to share their faith while in school, but with your help our campus mentors can change that! In fact, this year we are mobilizing a team of 150 mentors to reach the students at 120 schools across the nation to see student-led, church supported campus awakening to the love of Christ at every public school!

Statistically, 84% of all people in America come to faith before the age of 18 and high school kids are legally allowed to witness on campus when literally no one else is! That means that if our middle school and high school students could simply be equipped to share their faith, their potential to reach their peers and campus with the gospel is HUGE.

That is why our campus mentors are trained to teach high school and middle school students three powerful outreach strategies that have seen astounding results: personal gospel conversations, providing Christian materials to fellow classmates, and hosting amazing events (gospel rallies) on campus where hundreds of students hear the gospel.

Our mentors are SO excited to be a part of this mission and would love to have you to partner with them in reaching public schools for Christ in following two ways:

what does a mentor need?

These mentors are on the frontlines of gospel outreach, they need the body of Christ to come alongside them in prayer and financial support.

Pray for our mentors! | Would you please commit to pray for the next 40 days? We cannot do anything by ourselves and we don’t want to rely on our strength, but on God. We know God can do anything, so we are praying for God to bring an awakening in our time. Therefore, we want to get as many people praying with us as possible.

mission trips

In addition to mentoring students at a campus this year, our mentors will also have the opportunity to participate in a mission trip to one of the following areas:

  • orange county / la county, ca

The Orange County / LA County area is very spiritually diverse, and students struggle with a  variety of issues. Many students are culturally religious because of family; some are actively involved with drug and alcohol addictions, while others will do anything to seek approval from society. The trip will be extremely beneficial to the Biola Chapter of CSP, because my team will be assisting at least 3 schools in the local area in putting on their Outreach Weeks – all on the same week! This means we will be ministering to a mission field of at least 10,000 students, and we are praying that every single one of those students will have heard the gospel by the end of that week with a chance to respond to it. Imagine how much momentum this would create for the entire area to be impacted for Jesus!

  • san jose, ca

San Jose, known as the bay area, is the most un-churched area in the  country and is plagued by spiritual darkness. The trip will be extremely beneficial in breaking ground for CSP to be able to work more in the bay area, because in the one week my team will be there we’ll be assisting at least 2 schools in putting on their Outreach Weeks! This means we will be ministering to a mission field of at least 3,300 students, and we are praying that every single one of those students will have heard the gospel by the end of that week and been given a chance to respond to it. Imagine how much momentum this would create for the entire area to be impacted for Jesus!

  • lakewood, wa

Because Washington State is one of the most un-churched states in the  nation, it makes the news that God has opened an opportunity for us to work in a school in Lakewood, WA so much more exciting! Between now and January, the Christian club leaders at Lakes High School will plan and prepare an Outreach Week at their school for the first week of January. Then that week, our team will join the club leaders, providing encouragement, helping them promote the events, attending gospel rallies, going out and sharing the gospel alongside the students, praying for and with them, blessing and building relationships with the surrounding community, and hopefully training other students from surrounding schools to be bold witnesses for Jesus on their campuses. We have the joy of mobilizing and encouraging students in Washington to reach their peers in their state, and our prayer is that the impact goes far beyond anything we can ask or think.

  • san gabriel valley, ca

The San Gabriel Valley area is very spiritually diverse, and students struggle with a variety of  issues. Many students are culturally religious because of family; some are actively involved with drug and alcohol addictions, while others will do anything to seek approval from society. The trip will be extremely beneficial to the SGV Chapter of CSP, because my team will be assisting Workman High School, a school that has been faithful with God's calling on their club to do outreach for a whole 3 years! This means we will be ministering to a mission field of at least 2,400 students, and we are praying that every single one of those students will have heard the gospel by the end of that week with a chance to respond to it. Imagine how much momentum this would create for the entire area to be impacted for Jesus!

  • kern county, ca

Our mission trip will be an amazing time of helping high school students at two Kern County  high schools immerse their schools in the good news of Jesus! We'll assist the Christian club members as they host lunch-time gospel rallies from Wednesday through Friday that will give hundreds of students the chance to hear about Jesus, and we'll partner with them in personally sharing the gospel with students around the campus outside of school hours. We're also hoping to have a discipleship event Friday night for all the students who are interested in following Jesus to take the first steps in their new relationships with God! Our hope is that hundreds of students in these high schools encounter the love and power of God and are changed forever, which would truly represent a campus awakening to the love of Christ.
