$475,000 Needed to Help Reach Students in the Los Angeles Area

Story of Life Change

Rachel Sets Out to Reach 50,000 Students with the Gospel

Rachel*, a student from South Gate, was so excited about the Meant for More Movement that she set a personal goal of seeing 50,000 students reached with the gospel. Realizing that she wasn’t going to be able to do this with her current team of 3 other Meant for More Leaders, she immediately set out to share the gospel with others, reach out to youth pastors in the area, and recruit Christians to join her team.

After setting this goal during the second week of January, one of the students she contacted was Angie. Originally, thinking that Angie was a Christian, Rachel shared the vision of Meant for More with her. Realizing that she wasn’t a believer yet, Rachel went back and filled in the rest of the gospel message with Angie.

Angie, having gone to church for years, gave her life to the Lord for the first time and contacted her youth pastor to let him know what had happened and to share about the Meant for More Movement! Praise God for bold and visionary students like Rachel who are propelling this mission forward one campus, and one student, at a time.

Los Angeles Ministry Update

75 Student Leaders Reaching Over 25 Schools
  • Students leading 33 Meant for More Bible Studies! Through these 8-week studies, students learn and review the gospel, in addition to how and why we should share the gospel. They also take our Pray 5 Challenge and begin praying for 5 unsaved friends to know Christ.
  • Meant for More Bible Studies multiplying at Glen A. Wilson High School! Students started with one and are now leading 8!
  • 11 schools with Meant for More Bible Studies have already started witnessing.
  • 10 schools have started a Meant for More Conversation Group with students who don't know Jesus.
  • Rachel* from South Gate discovered the Meant for More Movement through a social media ad and has since inspired over half of her school's Christian club to join the movement with her!
During the pandemic, every school in L.A. was shut down and a vast majority remain closed to this day. We are praising God that we are currently able to work with 25 high schools and 1 middle school in this region, inspiring students to lean into evangelism in this season and share hope with their peers.

"The Los Angeles area is a massive mission field ripe for harvest, especially among students," says Rich Hung, NSP's California State Director. "Just in LA, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, the population of young people is just over 4 million! Among such a massive mission field something is being done. God is moving in and through students to be His witnesses to a lost and hurting generation. God is reaching in, touching lives, and saving souls."

2021 Goals & Prayer Requests

Please join us in praying over these goals for our LA team this year.

Pray God would raise and send more Christian students from 11 more schools in the Los Angeles area to rise up and reach their friends and classmates for Christ. We hope to see 75 Bible Studies launched among Christian students and many seeker small groups launched and led by Christian students.

Pray for more opportunities to work with more local churches to help mobilize and train their youth and leaders to reach more students for Christ right in their local communities.

Pray God would bring about an incredibly strong gospel witness among the youth from local churches in Greater Los Angeles to further His kingdom.

Pray that the club leaders raise up new leaders to take over the club.
