Volunteer with Decision Point

1. Complete Groundwire’s brief questionnaire.

After clicking the button below, you’ll be sent to Groundwire’s website. There, you can learn more about the ministry and fill out an initial intake questionnaire to express your interest in volunteering as a coach.

2. Read through the coaching manual.

After you fill out Groundwire’s questionnaire, you’ll be emailed a copy of their coaching manual. It’s important to read this cover to cover as it gives you a clear picture of the kinds of conversations you might have with chatters, as well as important tips for having a good conversation and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the user.

3. Answer 3 sample chat questions.

After reading through the manual, you’ll have a chance to practice! Groundwire provides 3 sample chat questions. Take your time, relax, and fill them out as best you can. Afterwards, a Groundwire team member will reach out to share some encouragement and feedback on how you did so you can head into your first live chat with confidence.

4. Attend a brief, onboarding meeting with other coaches.

After reviewing your sample chat questions, a Groundwire team member will be in touch with details about their next onboarding meeting. This meeting is a great time for you to ask any questions you might have and for Groundwire to give you some helpful training on how to use their chatting software.

5. Start Chatting!

Finally, it’s time to chat! We encourage you to pray before each chat and lean on the Groundwire coaching community!
